Hogg Middle School to Celebrate 100 Years with Centennial Picnic on March 21
Free, family-friendly event invites alumni, students, and community to honor a century of Razorback pride.

HOUSTON (Feb. 17, 2026) – Hogg Middle School will celebrate a century of education, community, and Razorback pride with its Centennial Picnic on Saturday, March 21, welcoming students, alumni, families, and neighbors to campus for a free, family-friendly afternoon honoring the school’s 100-year legacy.

The Centennial Picnic will transform the Hogg campus into a lively celebration featuring performances by school groups, campus tours, interactive activities, and opportunities to reconnect with generations of Razorbacks. Admission is free, but advance registration is required; registration is open now.

“This Centennial Picnic is more than a celebration—it’s a chance to bring together the generations of students, families, and educators who have made Hogg Middle School such a special place,” said Lisa Riley, event chair and PTA volunteer. “From alumni returning to their old classrooms to current students showcasing their talents, the day will reflect the spirit and community that has defined Hogg for 100 years.”

The Centennial Picnic will offer engaging experiences for attendees of all ages, including:

For Students and Kids

• Live performances from student groups, including the Hogg Orchestra, Choir, Ballet Folklórico, Razorettes, dance team, and more
• A festive campus atmosphere with music, games, desserts and family-friendly fun

For Alumni

• Special alumni buttons with graduation years to reconnect classmates across generations
• Alumni and student group photo on the school’s front steps at 12:30
• School tours highlighting Hogg’s rich history and legacy

For the Community

• Live entertainment featuring student performances and a local youth band
• Cross-generational music from an event DJ and live performers
• A raffle featuring a Heights-themed painting created by a former Hogg student
• Opportunities to explore the campus, reconnect with neighbors, and celebrate community traditions

Guests can enjoy barbecue from True Bark BBQ, available for preorder and onsite purchase, along with desserts provided by the students in the Hogg Business Club.

Sponsor Razorback signs displayed across campus will recognize supporters who helped make the Centennial celebration possible.

Funds raised through Centennial sponsorships and fundraising activities will support campus improvements, including the creation of a new Centennial mural.
