SUBJECT: Congratulations Razorback Parents! We Made it to the End of May!

Mark Your Calendar

Whew, what a month! Whether you like to call it "Maycember", "MAYhem" or just "This Crazy Month" - let's celebrate! Give your kids, fellow parents, teachers, even a stranger on the esplanade, a high five - we made it to the last day of May!

A Derecho, downed trees, power and AC outages and rescheduled events may have made this an extra memorable month, but our Hogg community never missed a beat. Amazing parent, student and staff volunteers helped clean up our campus following the storm, the Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Night was still a great success (just two days later than originally planed), our student athletes and scholars were honored, and there were wonderful performances from Karate, Band, Dance, and Theatre Razorbacks.

Tonight our 8th Graders will come together for their "It's Hollywood Nights!" dance and next week our 6th and 7th Graders will celebrate with outdoor fields days (rain, rain, please stay away!).

This month was marked by loss though, with with passing of Ms. Edna Theresa Guy. Ms. Guy meant so much to so many students during her 10+ years at Hogg, and she will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered.

Hogg will stay active throughout the summer with multiple camp opportunities. Details and registration links are below (there are A LOT, so keep scrolling to the end!). The STEM/Bridge Camp for incoming 6th Graders is taking place the week before school starts, keep an eye on your email and Social Media over the summer for more details on this event as well as other updates from the PTA.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the PTA this year! Whether you have donated your time, talent or treasure, attended an event or just helped spread the word about all the great things happening at Hogg, you have helped our PTA and Hogg Community have a successful year and have allowed us to THRIVE!

Have a safe and happy summer!

AAPI Heritage Night Highlights

An incredible team of students led by 8th graders Eli Reynoso and Kai Patel hosted this wonderful event!

Despite the last-minute change-of-date, AAPI Night drew a remarkable turnout of more than 150 students who earned free dress by visiting stations such as fan art, lantern making, games, karaoke, henna, and badminton. The event truly showcased the rich diversity and unity within the AAPI and Hogg community, leaving attendees inspired and connected.

Special thanks to Ms. Dalton, Ms. Gehman, Ms. Shultz, Ms. Silva, Ms. Chance, Ms. Brown, Ms. Goodman, Mr. Torrez, Ms. Weber, Ms. Villareal, Ms. Penrice, Ms. Guillory, NJHS members, Coach Skinner and Coach Brown, Master Cardenas and the Karate Kids, It's a Wrap Food Truck, Hogg's custodians, Ms. Cocoa, Ms. Angelica, Ms. Lafayette, and Mr. BJ and to all the AAPI Parents who donated delicious food for students to try.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the event so much fun!
