Ack! SO MUCH is going on tomorrow! Our first major PTA event of the year, Hispanic Heritage Night, will kick off with our first General PTA Meeting at 5:15 p.m. in the Auditorium. Make sure to attend for all the latest from the PTA. The Hispanic Heritage Night activities will begin at 5:30 in various locations throughout the school. This event truly is for everyone. Bring the little sibs, Hogg alumni, prospective students, really, there is something for everyone!

Tomorrow, TICKETS GO ON SALE for "Dia de los Muertos" - Hogg's Annual Auction Fundraiser. We do expect this event to sell out, so make sure to purchase your tickets right away! There are MANY other ways to be involved in the Auction, look for the fun and festive graphics below with all the details and links.

You thought that was all, but it's not...tomorrow is ALSO the first Magnet Tour at Hogg. Please help spread the word to your elementary schools and any prospective students and their families. Tours begin at 1:00 p.m. (pro tip - arrive a little early for parking and to get signed in). Tours will be held on Thursdays from October-January.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed throughout the year. Visit our Volunteer Page HERE and watch for regular announcements for ways to help out.

VIPS Certification

Volunteers must be VIPS certified each school year to volunteer on campus. CLICK HERE to complete your VIPS certification for the new school year!

Volunteering isn't just for parents! If you have a neighbor, colleague, family member or friend who is interested in helping out, all they have to do is complete the VIPS registration and they can volunteer.

Lunchroom Monitor

Lunchroom Monitors will return during the second 6 week grading period and will continue throughout the year. Volunteers are essential to each lunch period as volunteers provide an additional set of eyes and hands to assist the Hogg Middle School staff in managing the lunch period effectively.

Robotics Innovation Judges & Robot Games Referees

Hogg Robotics needs Innovation Project judges in November/Early December (can be done on your own time) and Robot Games referees the day of competition on December 14 at Hogg.

Did you know that some companies will make a "matching" monetary donation when you volunteer? Check with your employer to see if they participate in this type of program.

Hispanic Heritage Night - TOMORROW!

Hispanic Heritage Night hosted by Hogg PTA is TOMORROW! This event is open to everyone, so bring the whole family, your neighbors, friends and prospective students to this fun evening celebrating Hispanic Culture!

Hogg PTA's Auction - Día de los Muertos, our biggest fundraiser of the year, is coming November 2, 2024! Get ready to join us for a fun-filled evening with music, exciting performances, and extravagant fun at Big Brothers Big Sisters (1003 Washington Ave.).

Tickets go on sale TOMORROW, October 10, 2024.

By donating and supporting the auction, you allow us to continue to provide Hogg Middle School with creative programs, in-school assemblies, and teacher support. Here’s how you can help us make the auction a success!

Donate an Auction Item - Donate gift certificates, merchandise or experiences for our silent auction.
Host a Sign-Up Party - Organize a fun social experience for adults, kids, or both! You choose the date, time, number of people and experience and we sell tickets on the auction website with all proceeds going to Hogg. If you love hosting events, this is your chance to get creative!
Sponsor the Auction - Help us offset event costs so more of the funds raised go directly to Hogg students and programs while putting your brand in front of some of Houston’s most influential parents, educators, and community members. Sponsorships start at $500.

HSPVA Friends' Middle School Workshops

HSPVA Friends' Middle School Workshops provide opportunities for students in grades 6-8 to participate in classes in Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental and Vocal Music, Theatre and Visual Arts.

The program has a new offering for this year, Classical Guitar, on Saturday, October 19.

The Classical Guitar Middle School Workshop provides a unique opportunity to work with Dr. Bokyung Byun, an internationally renowned performer and Professor of Guitar at the University of North Texas.
